Shopkeeper beaten by armed robbers

Police are hunting for two men who robbed a shop owner at gun-point late on Thursday night.
The 61-year-old owner of the Brookfield Avenue mixed business was seriously assaulted and suffered cuts and bruises to his head, police said yesterday.
The thieves escaped with a “quantity of cash” in the robbery which was committed about 10.30pm, the police said.
The man who wielded the firearm was been described to police as being Aboriginal in appearance and having a large build.
He was last seen wearing dark clothing.
The second man had a skinny build and was also wearing dark clothing and carrying a duffel bag, police said.
